White hat and black hat hacker

This chapter is about different types of hackers and their aim of hacking a system. Contrary to show how they are portrayed in books and movies, not all hackers are prodigies. But they seem to have one things in common: natural curiosity and a strong desire to figure out how things work? We are not capable to fit hackers neatly in categories, but they could be divided them into three group: white, black and gray hat hackers.

The white hat hacker has immaculate computer ethics, for example, if a white hat hacker discovers a security weakness in a computer network, the first step would be to inform the network administered of a problem. Many of hackers work for organization and businesses to enhance businesses level of computer security.

Linus Torvalds is example of white hat hackers. He studied in the university of Helsinki. In 1992 he wrote the first version of operating system called Linux. This operating system was giving the best opportunity to become reach, instead he gave his operating system away for free.

The black hat hackers, in another hand, usually has malicious intent. It is predominantly black hat hackers that perpetrate computer crimes. for example, they had broken to the computer to access to steal money and information and many damage or threaten the computers and computer.

Another type of hackers is gray hat hacker. Gray hat hackers are between the white and black. They don’t immediately inform the owner of computer and spoil the problems.
